Topic/Theme - My favorite family time.
Age Groups - Open to children in age group 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12.
Prizes - Winners will be selected from each age group. All winners will receive award certificates and prizes, including participation certificate. Winners’ artwork will also be posted on the MAG’s website.
Eligibility - MAG and non-MAG families. Children of non-MAG members will pay $7 to participate.
Deadline - Art work must be submitted no later than June 15th, 2008. Results will be announced by July 15th, 2008. Art work will be displayed at the Malaysian Fest in August/September.
Judge - Artwork will be judged based on design, technique, clarity of theme message, and artistic merit.
Size of artwork - 11″ x 14″ paper size. Either a horizontal or vertical design layout.
Use of Materials - Any type of paper, white, colored, rough or smooth. The work maybe drawn or painted in pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, crayon, pastel, watercolor, gouache, acrylics, oils, poster color and collage. No organic elements or loose items/3-dimensional can be used.
Originality - It should be original (not copy from other’s) and unaided.
Each entry must be the work of only one student. Assistance from teachers, parents, or friends is not permitted except in special cases (such as students with visual or physical disabilities).
Number of Entries - Only one entry per individual.
Information Required – Participant’s Name and age. Address and telephone number. Signature of parents must be included on the back of each artwork. Not the front.
Submission – Art work can be mailed into the MAG mailbox or hand deliver to MAG officers during MAG event such as the Makan club.

On Feb 16, 2008 about 100 MAG members, friends and family attended the Chinese New Year potluck at the Medlock Bridge Subdivision Club House. The event was opened with the Hip Sing Lion Dance team welcoming the Lunar new year of the Rat with their ceremonial performance. See more pictures with this link.

Warm friendship and fabulous food made another great annual MAG Christmas Party. Santa visited and brought lots of gifts to the kids and kids-at-heart. There were lots of delicious homemade fare, including Seafood curry, which won first place for entrée. Durian Cheesecake was a hit and won first place in the dessert category.
